Leadership
Liang Zhang
Dr. Liang Zhang is a Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Connecticut, where he also serves as Director of UConn ITAC. His research focuses on smart manufacturing, energy-efficient manufacturing, industrial data analytics, and the resilience of cyber-physical systems, with an emphasis on the modeling, analysis, and control of production systems.
Ravi Gorthala
Dr. Ravi Gorthala is a Professor-in-Residence in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Connecticut and serves as Assistant Director of UConn ITAC. His work centers on energy efficiency and renewable energy in industrial and building systems, and he led UConn's establishment of the U.S. Department of Energy's national Onsite Energy Technical Analysis and Support Center, which helps manufacturers and other large energy users adopt onsite energy technologies.
Nick Bailey
Nick Bailey is the Lead Student and General Manager at UConn ITAC, where he leads student teams conducting energy assessments for manufacturers across New England. He is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, where he studies how data-driven models can improve energy efficiency and performance in manufacturing systems.
